Leeds Utd hope it will be third time lucky after a report revealed they are preparing another approach to sign a former Liverpool forward.

The Whites are poised to embark on their first Premier League campaign since 2004.

A busy summer transfer window had been expected, but activity beyond re-signing players already there last year had thus far been in relatively short supply.

Their efforts to bring back influential centre-half Ben White have been ailing. But according to the Scottish Sun, Leeds will waste little time in moving on to other targets.

The newspaper report that Leeds will make a third attempt at signing ex-Red and current Rangers winger Ryan Kent.

The 23-year-old had been a firm target for The Whites last summer, but Steven Gerrard’s side won the race after being impressed during his initial loan spell at Ibrox.

Leeds are determined once more to get their man, however, with the article stating Leeds will make a ‘£10m bid’ for his services.

The player reportedly wishes to test his mettle and prove his worth in the Premier League, though Rangers are understandably reluctant to sell.

Kent Rangers TEAMtalk

Kent scored at a rate of one in three in the SPL last season, and has already found the net twice this season.

Bielsa is a big admirer of the forward, and has apparently set the wheels in motions behind the scenes after ‘ordering a host of new faces be signed.’

The deal will most likely hinge on a fee Rangers deem approriate being bid, meaning Leeds will in all likelihood have to pay more than the initial £10m so far proposed.

The agent of new Leeds signing Dani van den Heuvel thinks the goalkeeper has a better chance of first team football at Elland Road than at Ajax.

Leeds announced the signing of van den Heuvel on Tuesday. The 17-year-old, who signed a three-year contract, will join their Under-23 squad at first.

Van den Heuvel previously spent three years in Ajax’s academy, and according to Voetbal International, the Dutch club did make an offer to keep him.

However, the teenager has opted for a fresh challenge in West Yorkshire. And now, one of his representatives has explained why.
